Taylor and Rik
On Tuesday, May 23rd, we left Diane’s, amid fond farewells, and drove to Frank and Nora’s place in East Boothbay, Maine. We stopped along the way for lunch at the Finish Line Cafe, (above) and just over the Maine border, and then continued on to West Paris, Maine, to visit with Taylor’s best friend, Rik, and his parents Rick and Daurice, pictured here. They own and run 90 acres of organic hops farming in the hills of central Maine and we are really glad to finally meet them after hearing Taylor talk about how wonderful they were. Rik and Taylor have been friends for more than a decade and I would not be at all surprised if Taylor decides to work for them, on their farm, after graduation from high school next year. They also raise organic chickens and vegetables and it was most interesting to learn more on this fascinating subject. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and now feel that Taylor will be in good hands whatever he chooses. Their Views are gorgeous as you can see.
Later we continued on to visit Taylor, and his Mum Tina, on Plum Island and to have a great lunch with him at Joe's in Newburyport, MA. As always he looks great and is looking forward to the end of his senior year next summer.
