I WANTED TO TOUR THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS OF DOMINICA IN ORDER TO GATHER MATERIAL FOR AN ARTICLE THAT I AM WRITING FOR ALL AT SEA ON CARIBBEAN COUNTRIES AND THIER PRODUCE.  I ARRANGED A TOUR GUIDE BY THE NAME OF DYLAN WHO WAS SO VERY HELPFUL AND KNEW JUST ABOUT EVERYONE.  BETWEEN DYLAN AND OUR FRIEND, MARTIN, I REALLY MET A LOT OF WONDERFUL PEOPLE AND LEARNED QUITE A BIT ABOUT FARMING.

THE MAN ABOVE IS STALIN, NOT NAMED AFTER THE RUSSIAN DICTATOR THOUGH.  HE OWNS 14 ACRES OF SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND FERTILE PROPERTY I HAVE EVER SEEN.  HE IS STANDING NEXT TO HIS COCO BEANS, WHICH HE PICKS AND DRIES IN FRONT OF HIS HOME ABOVE.

THE DAY THAT I VISITED HE HAD JUST RESCUED TWO PUPPIES FROM THE POUND.  HE HAS A HEART OF GOLD AND IS AS SOFT SPOKEN AS A POET.

HE GROWS WILD ORCHIDS, BELOW, AND 16 VARIETIES OF FRUIT TREES WHICH HE CULTIVATES.

MOUNTAIN PEOPLE ARE PROUD OF THEIR INDEPENDENCE AND ARE TOTALLY SELF-SUSTAINING.  THEY HAVE A WONDERFUL SENSE OF WHAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT IN LIFE.
